The 1968 Camaro as we first saw it. Engine (LS2) is in the process of being installed by Fast and Furiuos Performance. |
Testing the color choice of House of Color's Kandy Red over Metallic Silver.
Once the engine installation was completed, the body was sanded and prepped for painting. As this car would be very smooth with a high quality paint, a lot of TLC attention was given by the shop staff. |
All of the extra parts (hood, trunk lid, lights, etc.) where removed to provide a premium quality surface application into all of the "nooks and crannies". |
The car had been "gutted" when we received it. With the door jams painted, the interior is re-installed. |
Another look at the interior. This will be a well performing vehicle, in addition to just looking supurb. |
Some parts are best prepped and painted off the vehicle. |
All doors and panels need to be carefully aligned. Additional sanding will reveal high and low spots that need to be corrected. |
Sanding the hood off the vehicle. Better than reaching over the fenders! |
Getting ready for paint. Final primer and sanding completed |
Sealer coat applied prior to 3-stage paint. |
Stage 1: Silver basecoat. |
Stage 2: Kandy Red (Apple Red) applied over Silver.
Stage 3: Clear coat applied on top.

Cut & Buff exterior, then reassemble the trim pieces. |
